Skoda has quietly slipped past its corporate cousin Volkswagen with the refreshed Enyaq RS, giving EV fans a sporty electric SUV that packs more power and a sharper look. While VW’s lineup is already pretty stacked, Skoda has focused on sharpening its edge, and this Enyaq RS facelift is proof that the Czech brand isn’t messing around.
Currently, Skoda’s electric roster includes the original Enyaq and the newer Elroq, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 2024. But for drivers craving extra pep in their step, the Enyaq RS is the one to watch—especially now that it’s undergone a light but impactful makeover for 2025.
Fresh Facelift for the Sporty Enyaq RS
At first glance, the revamped Enyaq RS might look familiar, but a closer look reveals a handful of design tweaks that give it a more aggressive stance. Up front, you’ll spot new slim LED daytime running lights flanking a subtly reshaped bumper. The giant grille? It’s still illuminated, but now noticeably smaller and more discreet, letting those sleek, crisp lines take center stage.
Rolling on optional 20- or 21-inch wheels, the Enyaq RS keeps its drag coefficient impressively low—0.251 for the standard model and an astonishing 0.239 for the coupe. The profile remains essentially the same, but the rear end gets a fresh treatment too. New taillight graphics and touches of glossy black on the mirrors and bumpers add to the RS’s sporty flair. And yes, that panoramic roof is still there to flood the cabin with natural light.
Inside Tech and Comfort
Slide into the driver’s seat, and you’ll find the cabin largely unchanged—but that’s not a bad thing. Skoda’s layout is clean and intuitive, with a standard 13-inch touchscreen that handles your media, navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto hookups. A 5-inch digital instrument cluster sits directly behind the wheel, feeding you all the critical info without clutter.
If you want to splurge on tech, you can add an augmented reality head-up display that projects driving data directly onto the windshield. Audiophiles can opt for a 12-speaker Canton sound system, and interior themes dubbed Lounge or Suite let you choose between soft Alcantara or leatherette accents. Tri-zone climate control comes standard, so everyone stays comfy whether you’re scooting across town or heading out on a weekend getaway.
Beefed-Up Performance and Range
Under the hood, or rather beneath the floor, nothing has changed mechanically—Skoda sticks with the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup—but power jumps by 40 horsepower to a healthy 340 hp. That boost trims the 0–62 mph dash down to just 5.4 seconds, making the Enyaq RS one of the quickest SUVs in its class.
The SUV carries an 84 kWh battery pack (79 kWh usable), which now pushes its WLTP range to up to 560 kilometers (about 348 miles)—a slight uptick over last year’s 541 km figure. Charging from 10% to 80% takes roughly 26 minutes on a 185 kW fast charger, and a built-in heat pump helps keep energy use efficient in colder weather. Plus, bidirectional charging lets the Enyaq RS power external appliances or even feed juice back to your home grid.
What Sets It Apart in the VW Group?
This facelifted Enyaq RS is officially the most potent electric SUV in the VW Group—matching its own little brother, the Elroq RS, and edging out the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX (which isn’t on sale in France right now). In terms of pure performance, Skoda’s RS model claims the crown, proving that sometimes the underdog can steal the show.
Standard driver aids include Level 2 autonomous driving features, and the convenient Remote Park Assist lets you maneuver the SUV into tight spots from your smartphone. Pricing for the refreshed Enyaq RS hasn’t been announced yet, but the current model starts at about €61,130, which unfortunately puts it just above the threshold for France’s EV incentive. Still, for drivers who want style, tech, and a serious kick in the pants, the new Enyaq RS delivers more bang for your buck than most competitors—and it even manages to outshine Volkswagen in the process.
