While the European lineup is currently limited to the G6 and G9, China just got the brand-new G7. Pre-orders are now open, and a deep dive into the official site reveals that this SUV might just shake up the market – boasting specs that are 26 times more powerful than anything its rivals can claim.

From the outside, the G7’s smooth body panels and flush door handles keep the drag coefficient low, while the bold front bumper and distinctive daytime running lights ensure it stands out in traffic. Step into the interior, and you’re greeted by a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen dominating the dash. Despite the futuristic gadgetry, Xpeng hasn’t skimped on passenger comfort. Xpeng isn’t shy about touting its G7’s processing capabilities. Under the hood of this EV lies not one, not two, but three in-house “Turing” AI chips, delivering an astonishing 2,200 TOPS (trillion operations per second). According to the automaker, this is a world-first in consumer EVs – a claim that outpaces the Volvo EX90’s 508 TOPS by a massive margin. Such raw computational firepower opens up a world of possibilities for smooth, responsive performance across infotainment and driving assistance.

This supercomputer enables a level 3 autonomous driving system that relies solely on a camera-based sensor suite – no LiDAR here. The integrated neural network processes real-time video feeds to handle highway driving, traffic jam navigation, and automatic lane changes with minimal driver intervention. It’s a bold move, inspired by Tesla’s camera-first philosophy, but backed by far more AI horsepower.

Performance and Battery Specs

On paper, range is up to 702 km on the optimistic CLTC cycle, which roughly translates to about 610 km in real-world WLTP testing. That’s competitive with most long-range EVs in today’s market. Charging is similarly impressive: an 800-volt architecture combined with a 5C charge rate means you can refill at speeds five times greater than the battery’s capacity. Although Xpeng hasn’t officially confirmed the pack sizes, leaked Chinese regulatory filings suggest two LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) battery options: 68.5 kWh and 80.8 kWh.

Pre-order pricing starts at 235,800 yuan (around €28,420), positioning the G7 attractively against competitors. For context, the Model Y begins at 263,500 yuan, while the Zeekr 7X asks for 229,900 yuan. These pre-sale prices tend to dip slightly upon final launch, so the G7 could offer exceptional value for early adopters.

Whether the G7 will make its way to European roads remains to be seen. Xpeng is currently focused on rolling out hardware updates for the G6 and G9, and there’s been no official word on a European launch timeline. But given the brand’s growing appetite for overseas expansion, we wouldn’t bet against this tech-packed SUV finding its way west in the near future.
